Utah guard Byron Wilson, who averaged 19.5 points in two road wins last week, is the Western Athletic Conference's basketball player of the week.

Wilson, a 6-foot-3 junior, scored 22 points at Hawaii and 17 at San Diego State. From 3-point range, he was a perfect 3-for-3 against the Rainbows and 5-for-5 against the Aztecs. He shot 83 percent and he totaled 12 rebounds, four steals and three assists.Wilson currently ranks third in the WAC in 3-point field-goal percentage at .489. He'd ninth in free-throw percentage - .778.
