Jensen D. Christensen, 91, of Payson, died February 9, 1992, at his home.

He was born Dec. 28, 1900, Preston, Nevada, a son of Soren Christian and Caroline Christine Jensen Christensen. He married Sarah Dorothy Andersen, June 7, 1922 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she died March 19, 1991. He was educated in Moroni schools, graduating from Moroni High School. He graduated from the University of Utah and did graduate work at the University of Idaho in Moscow.He taught school in Uintah and Carbon County Schools, in various Idaho schools, and retired from Nebo School District, where he taught instrumental and vocal music along with other courses in Payson High School and Payson Junior High School. He was director of the LaNesta Chorus and many other area chorus for many years. He directed the Payson Community Band Concert for many years. He served as president and Lt. Governor of the Kiwanis Club. He served on the Payson Zoning Commission. He was Justice of the Peace for the Pasyon Area. He owned and operated his own farm. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Stake Clerk in the Payson Stake. He served as an ordinance worker at the Provo LDS Temple.

He is survived by two daughters and three sons, Mrs. J.R. (Clelia) Gardner, Laguna Hills, Calif.; Paul G. Christensen, Salt Lake City;

Kenneth G. Christensen, San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Gail (Sharil) Holt, Spanish Fork; and Bishop

Howard B. Christensen, Payson; 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; five brothers and a sister, Ertman Christensen and Leo

Christensen, both of Salt Lake City; Victor

Christensen, Louise Erickson and Carl

Christensen, all of Orem; and Herbert

Christensen, Ogden. He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister, Manley

Christensen, Richard Christensen, Elmo

Services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., in the Payson Park LDS Ward Chapel, 110 South 300 West. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Tuesday 7-9 p.m. or at the church Wednesday, 10-10:45 a.m.

Burial, Payson City Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Payson High School Music Department.
