Tommy Morrison stopped journeyman Bobby Quarry in the second round of a scheduled 10-round heavyweight bout Sunday night.

Morrison, 22, of Kansas City, Mo., put a quick end to the match against Quarry, of Bakersfield, Calif., with a solid right to the head.Morrison, who weighed in at 222 pounds, improved his record to 29-1 with 25 knockouts.

Quarry, who weighed in at 220 pounds, dropped to 10-11-2 with seven knockouts. He fell to 3-8-1 since his comeback began 1987.

The main event was Morrison's first fight since being halted in October by Ray Mercer. It also was the 21st time that Morrison stopped an opponent in the first or second round.
