Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Leslie Richard Sorensen, 70, passed away February 27, 1992 at home after a lingering illness.
Born June 2, 1921, Idaho Falls, Idaho to Nels Sorensen, Jr. and Ettie Mae Cobbley. Married Norma June Wardle, September 22, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Member of the LDS Church having served as a bishop for 11 years, on Stake High Councils and as a High Priest group leader. He was also a host on Temple Square. He served on the Pocatello Board of Education, former vice president of Gem State Mutual Insurance. He owned his own real estate and commercial finance companies. Served in the Marine Corp in World War II. Dick loved gardening, wood working, camping with his family and traveling with his sweet wife. He especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren.Survived by wife, Norma; daughters, Linda Sorensen, Leslie Sorensen, Sheila and Michael Carson, Jane Ellen and Todd Solomon, Nedra Sorensen, son, Vern and Kris Sorensen, sisters, Delilah Nielsen, Norma McGuire, LaVerle Cox, Vera Tolman, brother, Stanley Sorensen; three granddaughters and seven grandsons. Preceded in death by parents, one brother, two sisters and grandson, David.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 2, 1992, 11 a.m. at the Willow Creek 2nd Ward, 2400 East Alta Canyon Drive. Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 East 7600 South, Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church the day of the service from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
