Jennie Lea Todd, 50, died February 7, 1992, of ovarian cancer.

Born July 29, 1941, to Kenneth Christian and Gertrude Viehweg Todd, of Granger. Granger High graduate, 1959. B.S. in elementary education, BYU, 1965; attended J.F. Kennedy Center of Child Development, Denver, 1972-73. M.S. in early childhood education, U of U, 1974. Taught in elementary schools at Plymouth, Granite District, Maeser and Wasatch, Provo; Head Start at Hawthorne, Matheson, then Head Start supervisor of classes, Salt Lake District; Humboldt, Portland; Webster, Roosevelt, and Highland Park, Salt Lake City. Received 1992 Utah Educator of the Year Award from Legislative District #30.Active all her life in LDS Church, serving in many callings. Served North Scottish Mission, 1963-64. Throughout her adult life, she was well-known for her beautiful singing, which she freely gave at many church, community, and funeral settings. She was a voice of faith, cheer, and genuine kindness. She was much loved by her family, friends and associates, all of whom prize dearly their memories of her.

Survived by: mother; brothers, Jay, Holladay; Leonard, Salt Lake City; Val, Midway; ten nieces and nephews; many loving cousins, relatives.

Funeral services Tuesday, Feb. 11, 12 noon, Murray 12th LDS Ward, 363 East Vine St. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Monday, Feb. 10, 7 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday, at the ward, one hour prior to services. Burial, Taylorsville Community Memorial Park.
