DEATH: WILMA DESPAIN

Wilma Morley Despain, 77, died March 9, 1992 in Bountiful, Utah.

Born August 18, 1914 in Preston, Nevada to George Franklin Jr. and Lula Pearl Whitlock Morley. She married Clive R. Despain July 18, 1933 in the Manti LDS Temple. They lived in Centerfield, Sanpete County until 1980 when they moved to Alpine. Active member of the LDS Church all her life. She and her husband served a mission at the Manti LDS Temple Visitor's Center, Provo LDS Temple, and Richfield Genealogical Library.She enjoyed writing and publishing poetry, short stories, newspaper articles and historical articles about her great-grandfather, Issac Morley, and Sanpete County. She enjoyed singing in musical groups and writing musical scores. She was talented in making crocheted items. She was a finalist for Utah Mother of the Year in 1982. Member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers, the League of American Pen Women, and the Utah State Poetry Society.

Survived by her husband; and four children, Philip C. (Bonnie), Bountiful; David M. (Dona), Alpine; Kathleen (John) Callis and Eric R. (Barbara) Despain, all of Sandy; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph

Morley, Kaysville; John K. Madsen, Portland, Oregon; and a sister, Maurine Brinkerhoff, Bicknell.

The family would like to thank the Life Care Center in Bountiful for their services.

Funeral Services will be Friday, 12 p.m., in the Alpine 7th Ward, 98 East Canyon Crest. Friends may call at the Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the Church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
