Artists Norman Skanchy and Dell Taylor, both retired educators from the Ogden School District, will create a huge three-dimensional work of art that may reach for the giant beams of the Grand Lobby by the time it is finished. Skanchy will use his welding skill to form steel rods into a structural shape that Taylor will drape with fabric, plastics and other "found" materials. The purpose of this project is to demonstrate the process of creating a work of art rather than to emphasize the product.High school art students from the area will be invited to assist the artists in the construction of the art, and the public is invited to observe the process from Monday, March 30 through, Thursday, April 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be no admission charged. "Constructive Concept" has been made possible through a grant to Union Station from the Utah Arts Council.
