Salt Lake-based Horseshoe Bend Hydroelectric Co. has started construction on its 9.5-megawatt Horseshoe Bend hydroelectric project near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho.
Construction is scheduled for completion in late 1993, and power generated by the project will be sold to Idaho Power Co. under a 35-year firm energy sales agreement signed between the parties last October.The $22 million project is being constructed by Simplot Construction Inc., Nampa, Idaho, and the equipment package is being fabricated and installed by Voith Hydro, York, Pa.
Kelmarc Corp., Salt Lake City, a company specializing in independent power projects, has negotiated the final regulatory permits and placed financing on the project.
