At least 100 homes were flooded and thousands of vehicles were swamped Wednesday when thunderstorms dumped up to 8 inches on the city, pushing bayous over their banks. One death may have been caused by flooding.On Thursday, residents cleaned slime out of their homes while watching out for ants and snakes carried by floodwater. Earnie Bridges said the water was several feet deep in his home.
