DEATH: LONNIE S. TURNER

Memorial services were held Saturday, Feb. 29, 1992 at Oakwood Memorial Chapel, Chatsworth, California, for Lonnie S. Turner, 53, of Northridge, Calif. He died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1992 after a long hard fought, courageous battle against cancer.

Lonnie was born August 29, 1938, to Roy E. and Vonda Gatherum Turner. He attended Hillside Jr. and graduated from East High School. He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Utah, his Master's and Doctoral degrees from UCLA, all in political science. He was a professor at California State University, Northridge, since 1968, teaching criminal procedure, jurisprudence and American government. He received CSUN's political science department honor society's teacher of the year award in 1985. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.He married Judith Carlisle February 22, 1966 in Salt Lake City. Resident of Los Angeles area for many years and had also resided in San Francisco. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard 1960-1962.

Survived include wife, Judi; son Ben, Northridge, Calif.; parents and brothers, David L. (Roy) and Randy Turner, all of Salt Lake City, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many friends scattered across the U.S.
