Natural Product Sciences Inc., 420 Chipeta Way, has changed its name to NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc. Hunter Jackson, co-founder and chief executive officer, said the change was made because it more accurately portrays the firm's focus on drug discovery and development.

"NPS has drawn on a variety of animals and plants as sources of novel lead compounds for both its human therapeutic and biopesticide programs," said Jackson. "Each program has been very productive and warrants dedicated management and financing as this point."Jackson said the company plans to continue work in biopesticide discovery and development.
