John Reno Christiansen, 27, died May 9, 1992 near Farmington, New Mexico of injuries sustained while trail riding with a friend on their motorcycles.

He was born April 6, 1965 in Price, Utah to Merline H. and Ruth Jean Crook Christiansen. He graduated from Emery High in the class of 1983 as a honor student and recipient of the Browning Scholarship. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Canada, Winnepeg Mission, after which he attended and graduated with honors from the University of Utah in the class of 1990 with a degree in Mining Engineering. At the time of his death he was employed by BHP International, Navajo Mine.He enjoyed and excelled in various aspects of motorcycle racing. He died in his leathers doing what he loved best. He also enjoyed ranching and especially doing things with his family by whom he was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 1992, 12 noon in the Emery LDS Chapel. Friends may call Tuesday evening 6-8 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to services at the church.
