GRANITE TEACHER GETS 2ND TERM AS UEA CHIEF

Lily Eskelsen has been elected to a second two-year term as president of the Utah Education Association.

The Granite School District elementary school teacher was elected to head the 16,000-member teacher union for a second term beginning July 15.Also re-elected was Arlene Arnold, a library/media teacher at Pleasant Grove Junior High School, who has served one term as vice president.

Lou Shurtliff, an Ogden High School teacher, was elected to a one-year term as Utah's representative on the National Education Association board of directors.

Davis Education Association president Joel Briscoe will fill a three-year term on the Utah assassociation's board of directors.
