Sara Isabelle Merrill Tanner, 93, passed away May 17, 1992 in Bountiful, Utah.

Born October 8, 1898 in Lehi, Utah, the daughter of John Booth and Isabelle Gibb Merrill. Married Nathan Eldon Tanner, December 20, 1919 in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; marriage later solemnized in 1923 in the Alberta LDS Temple.She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints, having served as Relief Society President and Young Womens President. Was a member of Cleofan and Cannon Hinckley Church History Society. Was Woman of the Year at Ricks College and Utah State University. She also received the Golden Gleaner Award. Served with her husband as he served as Bishop in Cardston Alberta Ward; President of the Calgary Stake; President of the Western European Mission; Apostle and in the First Presidency of the LDS Church.

One of her most memorable experience's was christening the ship "Imperial Leduc".

Survived by daughters Ruth T. Doxey, Isabelle T. Jensen, Zola T. Rhodes, Beth T. Spackman, and Helen T. Beaton; 29 grandchildren and 90 great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Nielsen, Laura Wight, and Edythe Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 22,

12 noon at the Eagle Gate Stake Center, 135 North "A" Street. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Thursday evening 6-8 p.m., and at the ward Friday 10:45-11:45 a.m., prior to services.

Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
