A convicted rapist who police say confessed to killing four young women while on parole was ordered held without bail Friday.
Leslie Allen Williams, 39, said at his arraignment he didn't want bail."It's moot, I wouldn't let anybody post it," he told District Court Judge Michael Batchik.
The charges Williams was arraigned on Friday involve the deaths of Kami Villaneuva, 18, and Cynthia M. Jones, 16, and the rape of a 9-year-old girl.
Williams didn't enter a plea. He was charged with first-degree murder, premeditated murder, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and kidnapping.
A hearing was set for June 9. Williams faces life in prison if convicted. Michigan has no death penalty.
On Monday, he faces arraignment in Livingston County in the deaths of two sisters, Michelle and Melissa Urbin, ages 16 and 14.
Williams appeared in court without an attorney, and Batchik said one would be appointed for him later. Larry Kaluzny, who represented Williams after his arrest on a charge of abducting a woman last Sunday, didn't return phone calls seeking comment Friday.
Spectators massed behind police lines as Williams, unshaven and with a black left eye, was led into court for Friday's arraignment.
Tina Dubey, who attended Walled Lake Western High School with him in the late 1960s, shouted, "You should be one dead guy!" Others shouted, "Shoot him!"
Police said Williams confessed to the killings after he was arrested after the woman was abducted while she visited her mother's grave.
The woman was found in his car trunk on Sunday, her hands bound with plastic straps, police said. She is recovering.
The incident prompted investigators to look for links between Williams and other missing women and girls.
A tip from an ex-girlfriend of Williams led police Wednesday to Villaneuva's body.
