University of Phoenix officials have signed a lease expanding their main classroom and office space at 5251 Green St. by more than 50 percent to accommodate enrollment growth.
Craig Swenson, vice president and campus director, said the new lease allows the university access to the third floor and occupancy of the entire building. "We have expanded our space in the building from 20,000 to 30,000 square-feet, which will provide us 25 total classrooms," he said.It also includes eight classrooms the university is acquiring in a building north of the main facility. The new lease also provides improved parking, signage and landscaping.
Renovation work should be completed in September.
He said university facilities in Ogden have been expanded recently, and new classroom facilities in Brigham City are being used. The university caters to working adults.
