Send those elves on a vacation! ANOTHER new cookie from Keebler. "Sweet Spots" are billed as the "little shortbread cookie with the big drop on top." The little cookies come four to a package - 18 packs in all. The 15-ounce box awaits you for $2.95.
Don Russell: "We enjoyed Sweet Spots but not as much as most Keebler products. The cookie seemed hard and didn't have an overly appealing taste. Plus, Keebler has overpackaged these cookies. Sweet Spots are fun and somewhat unique but face an uphill battle to be on the grocer's shelves in a couple of years."Nihla Lake: "The Keebler Elf in charge of cookie design came up with a cute idea but forget to pass it along to the flavor department. Our family didn't care for this latest creation. The cookie portion tasted like sawdust. The price was high for fancy packaging and an overgrown chocolate chip."
Judy Slack Wilson: "I loved the little individual packages. They're neat to throw in lunches. The cookies are all right, not as good as some you might buy."
Edyth Jensen: "Sweet Spots are an OK cookie. The little ones liked them, but I think they are a bit of sweet for a bit too much cost."
Rich Firmage: "We got a bit ahead of the game on these cookies. We bought a box a couple of weeks ago before we got our sample. We liked them. The kids ate the big chocolate chip off the top first thing. The cookie part was pretty good. The packaging is a great idea for sack lunches or camping trips. Keebler cookies are almost always great and with these - the tradition lives on."
Conclusion: What a great idea! What a letdown! While there were a few kudos from our testers, Sweet Spots were compared with sawdust in the taste department. The Deseret News testing panel independently tests products purchased by the Deseret News.
