Two oil tankers collided and caught fire Friday night in the Straits of Malacca, and one crewman died, according to the U.S. Navy, which sent a salvage and rescue tug that helped extinguish the fires.

The tankers Argo Abe and Radwan Lima collided about 65 miles south of Singapore, the Navy's Pacific Fleet said in a statement released in Honolulu.
