Richard Decker Holmberg, 77, died July 17, 1992 in a Salt Lake hospital following a long illness.

Born January 22, 1915, Granger, Utah to William Jacob and Florence Decker Holmberg. Married Marjorie Thompson; later divorced. Married LaVerde Ruesch; later divorced. Veteran World War II, United States Navy. Former truck driver for PIE. Avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors: son, James Richard Holmberg and wife, Nola, Kearns; daughter, Shirley Hardcastle Ulibarri, husband Lee, West Jordan; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin W. Holmberg, Issaquah, Washington; John Park, Murray; two sisters, Jennie Rowell, West Jordan; Phyllis Diamenti, Price. Preceded in death by a brother, Roy Park and a grandson.

Graveside services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South. Friends may call at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, Sunday 6-8 p.m.
