Our loving mother, Irma Marie Erekson Holt, passed away July 18, 1992, just hours before her 83rd birthday, at the home of her daughter in Sandy. She died of causes incident to age.
She was born July 19, 1909 in Murray, Utah, to William B. Erekson and Esther Marie Young Erekson. She married William F. Holt, December 11, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1991. She graduated from Murray High School and attended LDS Jr. College, and the U of U. She served faithfully in the church throughout her life in Primary for 16 years, and the Relief Society. She was an extraordinary and gracious woman, admired and respected by numerous friends. Her loyalty to her husband was unwavering. Her greatest calling in life was that of a devoted mother. She dearly loved her grandchildren.She is survived by 13 children-nine sons and four daughters: William (Gay) Holt, West Valley City; Eric (Marlene) Holt, Don (Karen) Holt, Salt Lake City; George (Teri) Holt, Las Vegas, Nev.; Marlise (John) Housley of Sandy; Dwight Holt, Salt Lake City; Mark (Karen) Holt, Hillsboro, Oregon; Todd Holt, and Lynn Holt, both Salt Lake City; Karma Fernelius of Sandy; Kalma Holt, Las Vegas, Nev.; Yvonne (David) Mortensen, Carrollton, Texas; and Tim (Gwen) Holt, Salt Lake City; 35 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William S. Erekson, and Edward B. Erekson.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, July 21, at the Yale 2nd Ward, 1431 East Gilmer Dr. (1010 South). Friends may call at the Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 East 13th South, Monday, 6-8 p.m. and at the Yale 2nd Ward, Tuesday, one hour prior to services.
