Orvil Fon Jeffery, age 85, Delta pioneer, died Saturday, July 18, 1992 at Delta.

Born September 3, 1906, Fremont, Utah to Adaline Buchanan and Irvin E. Jeffery. Moved to Delta in 1907. Attended Delta Elementary, Millard Academy, graduated from Delta High School. Married Donna Jane Petersen October 3, 1928 in Salt Lake LDS Temple.Active in LDS Church, served as Ward Clerk, Bishopric Councillor and on High Council as well as many other positions. Filled mission to Texas from 1925-1928. He and wife fill a mission to Huntsville, Arkansas 1972-1973. Lifelong merchant and farmer he founded Quality Market Corporation in 1935. Active in community affairs served as Lions Club Pres., City Council and numerous committees for local development. Served on URGA board of directors.

Survived by wife of Delta, six sons and daughters, Aulene Bradshaw, Cedar City, Dorothy Bladen, Reed, Glen, Judy Hatch, Delta, Arthur, Orem, 37 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dr. Iliff, Provo, Jay, Morgan, Sisters Pearl Salt Lake City, Zerma Tripp, Delta. Preceded in death by son Ralph, parents, brothers, Eldro, Irvin W., Rondo.

Funeral Services Wednesday July 22, 1992

11:00 a.m., Delta 1st Ward Chapel 222 West 200 North, Delta. Viewing Tuesday 7-8 p.m., Nickle Mortuary, 190 So. Center and one hour prior to service at chapel, on Wednesday.
