Nabisco's new Pecan Supreme cookies are now vying for your cookie dollar. The shortbread treats retail for $2.65 for 18.5-ounces of cookies.
Nihla Lake: "Pecan shortbread cookies have been our family's long-time favorite. Maybe it was just our imagination that this `new kid' on the block wasn't quite as good as our regular product - didn't seem as fine textured or as sweet, although the ingredient and nutition panels seemed identical. The price was comparable, so we'll stick with our usual brand unless these new ones are on sale for a ridiculously low price."Judy Slack Wilson: "They were edible and we did eat the Pecan Supremes. They weren't any good unless you dipped them in milk. To tell the truth, we just won't be buying these again."
Linda C. Tingey: "I've long been a fan of Pecan Sandies. Like those, the Pecan Supremes have a good flavor and texture. The price is a little steep, but I'll probably buy them occasionally."
Rich Firmage: "The Pecan Supremes were OK. They didn't knock my socks off, but they were fine. I'm not crazy about nuts in cookies, but these nuts were crushed up so small that I really didn't even notice them much. If you like shortbread cookies and like pecans these are for you."
Conclusion: We are missing comments from the Jensen and Russell families as they are on vacation. Our remaining panelists were slightly underwhelmed by Pecan Supremes. Unless you feel like a nut, this cookie may not be for you.
