Jim Santy, a city councilman, has resigned his post to give more time to his teaching career.

In a prepared statement read by Mayor Brad Olch, Santy said he would serve until a replacement could be found but hopes to be through with his City Coun-cil duties by the beginning of the fall school term.Santy's term expires Jan. 1, 1996. The Park City Council will appoint a replacement to serve through Jan. 1, 1994. A candidate elected in the November 1993 election will serve the remainder of Santy's term.

Those interested in the appointed council seat have until 5 p.m. Aug. 7 to file their applications with the city recorder.
