Palmolive Sensitive is a new dermatologist-tested dishwashing detergent. The clear liquid is touted as being able to cut grease and leave hands soft. The 22-fluid ounce bottle retails for $1.57.
Don Russell: "This new detergent did everything we expected it to do. It cleaned, cut grease and seemed to be gentle to hands. Although Palmolive Sensitive Skin didn't make oceans of suds, it got our dishes in perfect shape for the next meal! If you need to use a detergent that is friendly to your hands, this one has possibilities."Nihla Lake: "Since my husband has sensitive skin on his hands, I recruited him to try out this dish soap. He liked the way it cleaned while cutting the grease. As for lessening skin problems, it seemed no better or worse than other brands such as Ivory."
Judy Slack Wilson: "I don't really see any difference between the Palmolive and other dish detergents, but since I have a dishwasher I don't really use a dish detergent very often. I do like the fact that it's clear. For occasional use, I will buy it if I have a coupon or it's on a great sale."
Edyth Jensen: "This dish detergent has been fairly kind to my hands. After washing dishes I haven't felt like I needed lotion. It has pleasant scent and is comparable in price to other detergents."
Linda C. Tingey: "Handwise, I can't see too much difference. This is nice soap, it's got a nice fragrance and the suds last. It's pretty comparable to other detergents. But I guess I'll still use Ivory."
Rich Firmage: "The Palmolive Sensitive dishwashing soap is an Ivory clear look-alike, which is good because I really liked the Ivory. The Palmolive has a very nice mild scent which I like and it cleans the dishes just fine.
"It doesn't suds up as well as the clear Ivory does. My wife said she likes the Ivory much better. Chances are we'll go with the Ivory."
Conclusion: Several of our testers noticed a difference in how their hands felt after using Palmolive's new dish soap. It does cut grease and the suds are long-lasting. It just might be worth a try.The Deseret News testing panel independently tests products purchased by the Deseret News.
