A jury has acquitted a Swiss nanny who was charged just one month after arriving in the United States with the arson murder of a 3-month-old baby in her care.

Olivia Riner, 20, was cleared Tuesday of three counts of murder and one count of arson. The jury deliberated 13 hours."I learned of a not-so-nice side of America," the native of Wettingen, Switzerland, said through a translator after she was acquitted.

She had faced 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

The parents of the dead infant, William and Denise Fischer, appeared stunned, and Mrs. Fischer had tears in her eyes. The couple left the courthouse without comment.
