Non-Stop Productions has been commissioned by ABC and NBC to produce theme music announcing the upcoming 1992-93 television season, according to owners Randy Thornton and Bryan Hofheins.
The company, which produces background and theme music, competed with major studios on the east and west coasts and was selected on the basis of demonstration tapes submitted when the networks requested them.Thornton said ABC Entertainment's theme "It Must be ABC" required dozens of variations from the 90-second principal network version to scores of customized identification cues for every ABC affiliate in the country.
NBC's fall image campaign centers on the theme "It's a Whole New NBC." The promotional pieces include 60-, 30-, 20- and 10-second spots for national and local affiliates nationwide. Hofheins said this is the first time Non-Stop has composed NBC's fall campaign music.
He said Non-Stop, 915 W. 100 South, has produced the music for ABC's fall shows for two consecutive years and last year produced CBS' theme music for its lineup. The music was produced in the state-of-the-art recording studio in Salt Lake City.
The ABC theme was written by local composers Tom Hopkins, Chuck Meyers and Lance Lenhart. Utah composer Sam Cardon wrote the music and lyrics for NBC's campaign music.
Non-Stop has produced several well-known themes for a variety of promotional material over the years.
