Kendrick Workman, 76, died at his residence on Wednesday morning, August 12, 1992.
He was born December 11, 1915 in Lovell, Wyoming to Corneluis and Lydia June Lemmon Workman. He married Mary Ellen Burton June 7, 1937 in the Salt Lkae LDS Temple; she preceded him in death. He married Ruth Musser, April 6, 1983 in Salt Lake LDS Temple. Reared and educated in Lovell, Wyoming and Delta, Utah he graduated from University of Wyoming. He taught mathematics at high schools in Montana, Wyoming, Utah and LDS Church College in New Zealand. He moved to St. George in 1987.An active member of the LDS Church he had served four full time missions and served as an ordinance worker in five temples. He had been an Elders Quorum president, High Councilman, counselor in Bishopric, taught genealogy and the Gospel Doctrine class, enjoyed music and sung in many ward choirs, active in drama, he was interested in youth and had great influence in the lives of young people. He had a special empathy for and was continually helping those who were less fortunate. He had been active in politics.
He is survived by his wive of St. George; a son David B. Workman, Layton; and five daughters: Mary Jeanne Jenness, Moscow, Idaho; Alice Sndeger, West Valley City; Anne Beus and Elizabeth Maynes, both of Sandy; and Shauna
Buchanan, West Jordan; 14 stepchildren: David Scott, Bountiful; Judith Asay, Logan; Kathleen Richardson, Thomas A. Scott, Suzanne Jenson, Johnthan R. scott, Samuel B. Scott all of Salt Lake City; Brian Scott, Oakland, Calif.; Benjamin J. Scott, San Diego, Calif.; Nicholas J. Scott, Ft. Lyons, Colo.; Joseph D. Scott and Stephen M. Scott, both of Seattle, Wash.; Linda Richardson, Provo; and Miriam Waddingham, Delta; 109 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren. A daughter Minerva preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 1992 at 11 a.m. in the 19th LDS Ward Chapel at 550 East 7th South. Friends may call at Metcalf Mortuary, Sunday evening 7-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel Monday form 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment, Manti City Cemetery at 4:30 p.m.
