Former workers of Coors Energy Co., which produces crude oil and natural gas in Roosevelt, have been certified as eligible for Federal Trade Act benefits.

According to Terry O. Burns, unemployment insurance director for the Utah Department of Employment Security, the benefits are available to Coors workers laid off on or after April 8, 1991, and before July 27, 1994. The benefits include trade act unemployment insurance payments, job search and relocation allowances and payment of approved training.Coors has not laid off workers in Utah since May 29, 1992, but layoffs may occur in the future, Burns said.

Trade-affected workers filing for weekly trade act unemployment insurance payments must be enrolled in training or have a waiver of the training enrollment requirement in order to receive the payments. Burns said workers separated from the company within the certification period should report to their nearest Job Service office to apply for the benefits.
