Donald Keith McGillivray, age 61, of Salt Lake City, formerly of Ulysses, Kansas, died August 8, 1992 following a lengthy illness.
Born in Ulysses, Kansas, April 8, 1931, the son of Gerald G. and Esther Withrow McGillivray. Graduated from Grant County (Kansas) Rural High School in 1949, then attended Garden City (Kansas) Jr. College for two years. Don served in the Korean War from 1951-53. Upon discharge from the army in 1953, he moved to Salt Lake City where he married Donna Kinsman on February 27th. He attended the Radio Institute for two years; and then went to work for Airwave Radio and T. V., where he became first, manager, then a partner and finally owner. The business was sold in 1985, and he went to work for Western Supply Co., where he worked until his death.Survived by his wife, Donna, West Valley City; a daughter, Jamie (and Michael) Harris, Evergreen, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Matthew and Lindsay. Also surviving are his mother, Esther and stepfather, Argyle McGillivray, Dighton, Kans.; two brothers, Mont (and Cathy), of Hutchinson, Kans., and Kayo (and Marsha) of Kenai, Ark.; a sister Lynne (and Jim) Fox of Dighton, Kans; and a sister-in-law, Arlene McGillivray, Ulysses, Kans. Preceded in death by a brother, G. Douglas; and a sister Sally.
Services and interment will be in Ulysses, Kansas. Funeral directors: Phillips Mortuary (Kansas) and Holbrook Funeral Chapel (Salt Lake City).
