Our beloved, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Archie Thomas Guymon, age 86, passed away Sept. 17, 1992, of causes incident to age, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born Sept. 28, 1905, in Orangeville, Utah, the son of Noah Thomas and Isabelle Sanderson Guymon. He married Ellen Blanch Nelson on May 16, 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; she preceded him in death on July 24, 1992. Archie was active in the LDS Church, holding many positions: He was a temple worker, genealogist and stake missionary. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening. He spent his early childhood in Orangeville and Castle Dale, Utah, where he graduated from Central High School. He moved to Idaho in 1936, where he was a farmer and laborer. He moved back to Utah in 1975, where he resided in the Cottonwood area.Survivors include two sons and three daughters, Coral Johnson, Idaho Falls, Delaine (and Robert) Anderson, Boise, Nelson (and Marlene) Guymon, Twin Falls, Elva (and Gary) Findlay, Salt Lake City; and Marvin (and Brenda) Guymon, Layton; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by three brothers and one sister, Clell, Salt Lake City; Harold, West Jordan, Glendon, Logan; Bertha, Provo. Preceded in death by a great-grandchild; two sisters; three brothers.
Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 21, 12 noon, at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call Sunday, from 6 to 8 pm and on Monday for one hour prior to the services.
Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
