Roelfje `Ruby' Steenbergen Oenes, 81, died on Monday September 22, 192 at her home of causes incident to age.

She was born on March 11, 1911, in Groingen, Holland, a daughter of Wessel and Wilhelmina Anna Nienhuis Steenbergen. On May 6, 1940, she married Jake Oenes in Holland. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on October 4, 1983.A member of the 62nd LDS Ward, she had been active in Relief Society and served as a visiting teacher. She served an LDS mission to Holland with her husband. She retired from McKay-Dee Hospital Center where she had been a housekeeper. She enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a wonderful mother and loved her children and grandchildren.

Survived by two sons and three daughters, Jake Jr., and Julie Oenes, Harrisville; Pete and Cherrie Oenes, Ogden; Ann and Gary Millspaw, South Ogden; Willy and Roger Marriott, Kaysville; Ruby and Alan Lawlor, Danville, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three brothers.

Services will be held on Friday, at 11:00 a.m. at the 62nd LDS Ward Chapel, 300 Gramercy Avenue, with Bishop Richard Rice officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., on Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday at the ward, from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
