Maurine Helen Hanks Busath died September 24, 1992 in Salt Lake City.
She was born August 26, 1907 in Salt Lake City to Stanley Alonzo and Maude Frame Hanks. She attended Washington Elementary School, graduated from West High School, and attended LDS School of Business.She married LaMar Paxman Busath in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 4, 1929. He preceded her in death on her birthday, August 26, 1990.
She was employed prior to her marriage by Mountain States Telephone Co. and Cutler Brothers. She later assisted her husband in opening and operating Printers, Inc. in Sugar House.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, over the years she has held numerous positions including Primary president, Sunday School Stake Board member (Boise, Idaho), teacher in various organizations, quilting supervisor, and many others. She was also active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was a skilled seamstress and handworker and delighted family and friends with articles that she made. An avid singer, she participated in many choral groups and choirs, including The Singing Mothers. She loved others and provided much comfort and service to those in need.
She is survived by one brother, Elder Marion Duff Hanks; five children, Don LaMar Busath, Boyd Hanks Busath, Mrs. Gerald C. Street (Joan) and Stanley Albert Busath, all of Salt Lake City; and Mrs. H. Jarold Weatherford (Beth), Statesboro, Georgia; 22 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, 1992, at Highland View Ward, 2980 South 2790 East at 12:00 noon, Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East, and Monday from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 before the funeral services at the chapel. Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr.
