Athelia Booth Pitchforth, long-time Salt Lake resident, age 94, passed away September 26, 1992 in Huntington Beach, California.

She was born March 21, 1898 in Nephi, Utah, to pioneer parents, Edwin Robert and Ann Eliza Brough Booth. She married Lee Pitchforth, April 9, 1926. She attended BYU and the University of Utah. Athelia was a life-long active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held a variety of positions in all organizations. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanist. She was active in many civic and Phi Mu Sorority activities during her life in Salt Lake City and Piedmont, California. She had been employed by Western State Grocery and the Utah State Liquor Commission as a bookkeeper.She was preceded in death by her husband, of 62 years. She is survived by children, Lehi Pitchforth, Westminster, California and Nancy P. Patton, Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 11 a.m. in the LDS Huntington Beach 7th Ward. Interment: Forest Lawn Cemetery, Hollywood Hills. Arrangements made by Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the Lee L. and Athelia Booth Pitchforth Scholarship Fund at the University of Utah, School of Business.
