Dal C. Allred, age 68, passed away on January 15, 1993 at LDS Hospital, of natural causes.
Born October 31, 1924 to Edgar M. and Lily Mae "Kitty" Allred in Hooper, Utah. Married Alice Evans, August 15, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Retired as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, serving in italy and Austria in World War II, as a member of the 10th Mtn. Div. and three years as Deputy Senior Advisor at Ft. Douglas during the Viet Nam War.He was a partner in the architectural firm of Evans and Allred, where they designed 140 new and remodeled LDS churches, as well as commercial buildings. In 1978 he joined the State Bldg. Board as an architect and served three years as Asst. Director for Construction. He retired from the state in July 1990, after 20 years service. As a member of the LDS church, he served in many positions in all the auxiliaries and was currently a member of the Colonial Hills High Priest Group. He was also involved in the scouting program for many years. He and his wife served a Leadership Mission to Liberty Stake from 1983-1985.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Evans, and four children, Julie Adduddell, Bountiful; Marilynn Monson, Naperville, Ill.; Barbara Draper, Farmington; Alan Allred, Salt Lake City; a niece, WenDee Russon; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sonya McDermaid.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, at Colonial Hills Ward, 1455 South 17th East, where friends may call sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Funeral directors, Russon brothers Mortuary.
