Ivan Sylvester Allen, 85, of Cove, died Monday, January 25, 1993 in Logan, Utah.
The youngest and last living child of Andrew B. and Susannah Preece Allen, he was born August 19, 1907 in the High Creek homestead overlooking the beautiful Cache Valley that he loved so much and called home until three years ago when he had a stroke.He married Agatha Hatch in the Manti LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife of North Logan; four children, Kaylene and Terry Griffin, North Logan; Arlo and Nancy Alley Allen, Sandy; Wayne and Holley Butterfield Allen, Smithfield; Diane and Val Sorenson, Dusseldorf, Germany; one son-in-law, Bob Carlson, Meredian, Idaho; one stepdaughter, Susan B. Carlson; 26 grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Andrew, a daughter, Myrna and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sat. at 12 noon in the Cherry Creek Ward, 150 South 100 East, Richmond, because of remodeling of the Cove Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Friday eve. from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Interment will be in the Richmond Cemetery.
