BOUNTIFUL-Susie E. Craven, age 90, died January 5, 1993, in Bountiful, Utah
Born January 16, 1902 in Salt Lake City to Syvert Schultz and Susanna Thea Lund, immigrants from Norway.Married Gerald Craven of Clayton, Yorkshire, England, on September 12, 1923 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
They lived in Murray and Logan, Utah and Boise, Idaho, where her husband passed away in 1953. Susie served as counselor in the Relief Society and Primary and teacher of Young Women.
She moved to Provo, Utah in 1954, where she was employed with Brigham Young University Food Service for 17 years. She had a keen sense of humor and a strong spirit of self reliance. She cooked for the dinner line in the Joseph Smith Building and became known as the "Salad Lady" in the new Wilkinson Center, where she was a delight to both students and staff. She retired in 1972 and later moved to Bountiful, Utah.
She was a petite pillar of strength to her family. Her most joyous moments were serving and helping others.
She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Elder Rulon G. and Donna Craven, Sydney, Australia; Frank L. and Lyle Craven, Orem, Utah; Mrs. D. Glenn (Geraldine) Boyer, Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. David H. (Marian) Dawson, Gastonia, North Carolina; 22 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
We will miss her thankfulness, love of life and keen sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 9, 1993, at 2 p.m., in the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where friends may call Friday evening 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 12:45-1:45 p.m., prior to services.
Interment: Centerville City Cemetery.
