Howard Max "Pete" Durrant, age 60, died October 27, 1993 in Salt Lake City.

Born January 31, 1933 in American Fork to Sterling and Emma Pearl Gray Durrant. He worked for Geneva Steel for 25 years, was a veteran of the Korean War, having served four years in the Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved chopping wood and telling stories. He enjoyed his children.He is survived by four sons and a daughter, Steven A. Meryhew, Tempe, Arizona; Donald Meryhew, Meridian, Idaho; Russell Durrant, Pasco, Washington; Tony Meryhew, and Mrs. Robert (Madonna) Proctor, both of American Fork; 21 grandchildren and three sisters, Nelda Kelly, American Fork; Marilyn Nelson, Pleasant Grove; Colleen Lawson, Bakersfield, California. Preceded in death by a son, Ron Meryhew.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the American Fork 18th Ward, 380 South 300 East. Friends may call Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the services. Burial in the American Fork City Cemetery. Military Rites by VFW District 4.
