Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, brother and friend, Alvin Freeland Salmon, returned to his Heavenly Father, October 27, 1993.

Alvin was born July 24, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to John Homer and Margaret Phoebe Salmon. He went to school in Mesa, Arizona. He was inducted in the Reg. Army on March 3, 1941. His services included Oahu, Hawaii, and the Pacific Theater. Discharged August 31, 1945 under honorable conditions as Tech Sgt. Alvin worked for the Post office and U.S. Forest Service until retiring in 1968. Alvin also maintained an active role in the Utah National Guard.Survived by his wife, Erma White-Salmon (married 15 years). Three children from former marriage, Penny, Tammy Clampit and husband, Wayne; Kerry Hurst-Carlson. Stepchildren, Billie Fritzlan, Las Vegas, Nev.; Eileen Taylor, Scott White and wife, Diana; Ted White and wife, Cheryl, Texas; Carla Hess and husband, Richard; Marianne Watson, Douglas White, Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Alma McGarvey, Mary Koehler, Irene Johnson and husband Cecil; brothers, Glen (deceased), Melvin and wife, Gail, Orvil and wife, Mary Jane, Jerry and wife, Ruth, Eugene and wife, Betty, Dean and wife, Sharon, William H. Salmon.

We would like to acknowledge the staff at the Veteran's Hospital for the attention and professional care they gave to Alvin in the last weeks of his life here upon the earth.

Funeral services 12 noon, Monday, November 1st, at the Monument Park 7th Ward, 1794 Texas Street. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, and one hour prior at the ward on Monday.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.

We love you, Alvin, and we'll miss you dearly.
