Lawrence Watkins Doxey died October 8, 1993.

Born August 13, 1897 at home in Ogden, Utah, son of Thomas and Bessie Watkins Doxey. Married Ines M. Evans, June 3, 1925 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Lawrence was in World War I and served a Central States mission. He served as a Salt Lake Temple worker over 34 years. Served in the MIA, Sunday School, Genealogy Specialist, bishop of the Hunter Ward, North Jordan and Hunter Stake High Councilman, stake patriarch and home teacher. He was an instructor at Weber Academy. Worked for S.P. Railroad in Ogden and Kennecott Copper. Member of Sons of Utah Pioneers and honorary Master M-Man. He was a farmer and gardener. Many homes and churches have benefited as his able hands and strength gave service continually.Survived by three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Donald (Yvonne) Hess, Magna; Mrs. Robert (Maryann) Farnsworth; Evans T. (Marlene) Doxey, all of West Valley City; Lawry E. (Bonnie) Doxey, Aurora, Colorado; Mrs. David (Kareen) Harkness, Sandy; 18 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth T. Doxey. Preceded in death by parents, wife, brothers, Earl, Hyrum, Franklin, Roy; sisters, Ada and Vera.

Funeral service will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at the Hunter 1st Ward, 3930 So. 6000 West. Friends may call Sunday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 10-10:40 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
