Cornelius "Neil" Workman, age 69, died October 31, 1993 at a local hospital.
Born July 14, 1924 in Delta, Utah to Claude Cornelius and Martha L. Duncan Workman. Married Phyllis Bench on October 7, 1947 in Salt Lake City. He served in the Pacific Theater with the 3rd Marine Division from 1943-45 and was awarded the Purple Heart. Active member LDS Church, recently served as Family History director. Served an Eastern States mission and in many other callings in the LDS Church, including bishop, Scoutmaster, and High Priest Group leader. He also enjoyed working in Little League Baseball.Survived by wife; eight children, Nancy and Grant Allen, Gay and Jim Jackson, Sue and Roger Young, Anna and Mario Florez, Cory and Terrie Workman; Lisa and Lee Broadhead, Bert and Sara Workman, Dan and Debra Workman; 25 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Scott and Venita Smith; Eva Lou Wimmer; Preston and Greta Workman; Croft M. and Thea Workman, Dallan and Pat Workman, Claude and Glenna Workman. Preceded in death by parents, brother and sister-in-law, Trulan and Irene Workman.
Funeral services Thursday, 1 p.m., November 4, 1993, Cottonwood 10th Ward, 4930 Westmoor Road. Friends may call Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State, and Thursday, 12-12:45 at the church.
Interment, Elysian Gardens.
