A commuter airline crash claimed the lives of an LDS mission president and one of his counselors Sunday near Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Jose Jiminez, 46, president of the Guatemala Guatemala City North Mission, was among 13 people killed when the plane he was aboard crashed into a mountainside at 11 p.m. - about seven miles outside of the capital. Jiminez's counselor, Julio Arfe, also died in the crash. There were no survivors, and wreckage was scattered over a 300-meter area.Jiminez, a native of Puerto Rico, and Arfe, a Guatemalan, were returning to Guatemala City from church business in another part of the country.
