I have become greatly alarmed at the thinking and direction the "new health-care plan" is taking. We as Americans deserve better. Fix and correct our system; don't pattern it after other nations' plans, which are not working.

The main goal as I see it and understand it is to hold down the cost. How can throwing tens of thousands of insurance agents out of work possibly reduce the cost to the nation, especially when you factor in the cost of welfare, unemployment, job training, etc.?The small-business owner, the lifeblood of the country, will be taxed out of business.

Clinton says monopoly is good. It will save the health industry. When our freedom to choose is taken from us, a little bit of our country dies. Do not create another governmental bureaucracy. (Clinton says he wants to cut back government - by creating more?)

Why are they scaling back Medicare if it works so well for this government-run bureaucracy? We're being sold a bill of goods on this one. The large companies are paying $400-$500 per family while the small groups are paying $250-$300 for comparable coverage.
