Whether you've been naughty or nice, you'll be glad to know Santa is visiting many local shopping malls. Other festivities are also planned.
Here is a schedule for the holiday season:
Cottonwood Mall
Santa's trip from the North Pole stops here on Friday, Nov. 26, at 9 a.m. Children who visit Santa will receive a Christmas theme workbook and get a chance for pictures.
Santa's schedule from Saturday, Nov. 27 through Dec. 19, will be Monday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from noon to 5 p.m.
On Dec. 20-23, Santa will be here from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
There also will be a variety of musical programs featuring local singers and school choirs. For information about the entertainment schedule, call the customer service booth at 278-0416.
Crossroads Plaza
After a year of getting ready for Christmas, Santa is pooped. He will be snoozing at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 26, in the Scandia Down store near center court on the Richards Street level of the mall. The store will be locked and it will be up to children to wake Santa up. Every child who visits Santa at that time will receive a gift. Santa will be around from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Nov. 26.
Santa's hours after that will be Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
Fashion Place Mall
That jolly old elf is called "Sandy Claus" here because Santa is smack in the middle of a 350-pound sand sculpture surrounded by 12 dinosaurs.
Santa will be around during all holiday season mall hours. On Friday, Nov. 26, he'll be there from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 27, the hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; on Sunday, Nov. 28, hours are from noon to 6 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 29, through Dec. 4 hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Santa will be there Dec. 5, from noon to 6 p.m.
From Dec. 6 through Dec. 23, Santa will be on hand Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
On Sunday, Dec. 12, Santa will be present from noon to 7 p.m. and on Sunday, Dec. 19, he will stay an hour later, from noon to 8 p.m.
Santa will here through Dec. 24.
There also will be entertainment. School choirs will be performing in the Sears court Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Other groups will perform Dec. 6-22. Strolling musicians and carolers will be entertaining on weekends Nov. 26 through Dec. 24.
Customers spending $100 or more at the mall can get free gift wrap Nov. 26 through Dec. 10. Take receipts to the booth in front of Martha's Hallmark in the Sear's wing.
Five Points Mall
On Saturday, Nov. 27, the Bountiful Christmas Parade will start at 9:30 a.m. and Santa will swing into the mall by 10:30 a.m. His Saturday hours will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 3-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
After that, Santa will be on hand Monday-Friday from 4-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Each Saturday he will be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 3-6 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
From Saturday, Nov. 27, through Dec. 4, there will be the Beary Unique Boutique and Nutcrackers and Evergreens Tree Festival sponsored by the Davis School District Foundation, Five Points Mall and Bountiful Area Chamber of Commerce.
A variety of entertainers and programs will be held throughout the holiday season.
Layton Hills Mall
Starting Friday, Nov. 26, Mr. Claus will be on hand Monday-Friday from noon to 8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. He will be here through Friday, Dec. 24.
On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, he will be wearing his Father Christmas costume. On other days, he will model his traditional costume. Mondays will feature 99 cent photos with Santa from 5-9 p.m.
Breakfast with Santa will be held on three Saturdays, Dec. 4, 11 and 18. Tickets cost $3 apiece and can be purchased at Info Booth in Center Court. Breakfast is held at Garcia's and includes a photo with Santa and a candy cane.
Free gift wrap will be offered on Tuesdays. A gift with $300 in mall receipts will be given on Wednesdays. On Fridays, there will be a gift for the first 100 shoppers.
The mall will offer four $1,000 Thursday shopping sprees on Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Register at JCPenney.
Ogden City Mall
Mr. Claus will be in residence starting Friday, Nov. 26, on Monday-Friday from 1-8 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
On Dec. 1 from 5-9 p.m., the mall will hold family night with Santa, the Snow Queen and other costumed holiday characters. On Dec. 4 from 8-10 a.m., the mall will hold a "Beards, Fur and Feathers" event that features pet photos with Santa. Proceeds will go to the Ogden-Weber Humane Society.
Holiday entertainment also will be provided. The Renaissance Chamber Ensemble will perform Saturday, Nov. 27, at 2 p.m.; the Rocky Mt. Symphony's winter concert will be Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. and the symphony's concert will be Dec. 4, at 2 p.m.
On Dec. 11 at 2 p.m., the Beehive Statesmen Men's Chorus will perform. The Choral Reef Strolling Carolers will sing at 2 p.m. Dec. 18.
South Towne Center
Santa Claus will be ready to go Friday, Nov. 26, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m the next day.
The following week, Nov. 28 through Dec. 4, his hours will be noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
After that, Santa's hours will be 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Friday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday until the week before Christmas.
During Christmas week, Santa will be around from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
There also will be two pets nights with Santa. During the evening on Dec. 8 and Dec. 21, people can bring in their pets and have their pictures taken with Santa. The hours are from 5-9 p.m.
On Dec. 18, there will be a special Santa who signs for the hearing-impaired from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Free gift wrapping will be available for any mall purchase from Nov. 26 through Dec. 24. The wrapping area will be near customer service on the mall's upper level on the west side.
There also will be a three-day Kid's Shopping Center that features gifts children can buy for parents costing under $10. Student DECA members will help youngsters select gifts. The center will be open from 3-9 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 3, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dec. 4.
Sugar House
Santa Claus will be ready to hear happy young voices whispering in his ear at the Sugar House Center next to ShopKo starting at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26.
From then on, he will be available Monday-Thursday from 4-8 p.m., Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. The center is closed Sundays.
Santa will be here through Thursday, Dec. 23.
Trolley Square
Santa won't be visiting here, but shoppers can enjoy hot roasted chestnuts provided by the Salvation Army of Salt Lake City on all holiday weekends. Donations are appreciated.
There also will be live entertainment the entire season, with more than 50 groups, organizations and schools taking part.
Collect $250 in mall store and restaurant receipts to receive a free Christmas tree and a chance to win a designer bedding ensemble valued at $2,000. To get a tree, visit the gift wrap center in the upper level for a $25 tree voucher. Vouchers will register shoppers to win the bedding ensemble.
University Mall
Santa will arrive in style on a fire engine at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, by the marquee sign. From there, he will be in Mervyn's court to greet children and have photos taken. Santa will be there on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday-Friday until Dec. 10, from 2-9 p.m., then on Monday-Friday starting Dec. 13, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
Holiday entertainment will be provided by local school and community singing groups between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday-Friday from Friday, Nov. 30 through Wednesday, Dec. 22. These groups will be performing in ZCMI court.
Valley Fair Mall
Santa will have lots of friends on hand - Linus, Schroeder, Lucy, Peppermint Patty and Charlie Brown - when he shows up at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 26, in the Santa Christmas Parade. It will begin at Granger Park 3600 W. 3500 South, east to Market Street, east on Lancer Way and end at the mall. Snoopy is the grand marshal.
At 10:30 a.m., the mall will light up for Christmas as Santa and Snoopy arrive. Children can begin visits with Santa and each get a Christmas prize.
Then from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and again from 1:30-2:15 p.m., there will be a Snoopy "meet and greet" with Santa at the North Pole Palace at center court.
On Saturday, Dec. 4 at 9 a.m., there will be a breakfast with Snoopy and Santa. Families will see Snoopy's "Night Before Christmas" show, have a Chick-fil-A breakfast and meet Santa. Tickets cost $2.50 each and must be purchased before Wednesday, Dec. 1.
At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., there will be a free performance of Snoopy's "Night Before Christmas" on the stage in front of ZCMI.
From then on, Santa's regular hours will be Monday-Friday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
ZCMI Center
Santa pops in at 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov 26, and will be on hand in center court, accompanied by Raymond the Shopping Reindeer, until 9 p.m.
From then on, Santa's hours will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The mall is closed Sundays.
Santa will be here through Dec. 24.
Raymond the Shopping Reindeer will be greeting customers from 4 until 7 p.m. every Tuesday and all day every Saturday throughout the season.
Free parking will be available Monday-Friday for customers arriving after 5 p.m. and all day on Saturdays.
There will be free gift wrapping for mall purchases every Tuesday. At least two mall purchases must be made to qualify.
There will be the seventh annual Christmas night walk sponsored by the mall and the Salt Lake Footloose Volksport Club on Friday, Dec. 3, and Saturday, Dec. 4. Open registration for the 10K free event runs from 4:30-6 p.m. each day. The 6.2 mile walk itself does not have a mass start; instead, participants will go at their own pace from 4:30 until 9 p.m. both nights. Participants walk from ZCMI to Trolley Square and back.
