Gayle, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at 9:30 p.m. November 2, 1993.

She was born December 19, 1908, in Magna, Utah to Clara Woodhouse and Edward Larsen. She was married n the Salt Lake Temple on September 12, 1935 to Elbert O. Thompson. They have four children, Ronald E., Karen Toone, Edward D. (deceased) and Gaylynne (deceased). She is survived by her husband, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Gayle was always active in church service, being Primary president, Mutual president and teacher, temple worker and one of the first hostesses at the church office building. Also served as president of the dental auxiliary, president of PTA at East Millcreek Elementary. Also worked as a volunteer for the Cancer Society and at the LDS Hospital. She was a talented pianist, and loved the cultural arts. She and her husband were charter members of the Dinorator's Club and Willowcreek Country Club. She traveled extensively with her husband on lecture tours throughout the world.

Gayle was a wonderful mother to her four children and their posterity. Her truly great work was in her devotion to her family, her husband, and her church. Her family was her treasure and each one felt it. We will miss this noble woman.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, at 12 noon, at the East Millcreek Ninth Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2600-2700 East). Viewing for family and friends will be Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Drive, and one hour prior to services at the East Millcreek Chapel.
