Dr. Shoichi Oki died at his home in Montclair, New Jersey on October 24, 1993.
He was born on March 12, 1937, in Ely, Nevada, the fourth son and seventh child to Yayo and Tsuzuki Oki. He graduated from Ely High School, attended the University of Utah, and was a graduate of Columbia Dental School. He married Sharon Holt, of Texas. He opened his dental practice in Manhattan in 1963.Beloved husband of Sharon; adored father of Tamara Murphy, Allison and Andrea Oki; dear brother of Wataru Oki, Yeiko Homma, Keiko Mori, Tom Oki, and Miyoshi Marumoto. Cherished son-in-law, father-in-law and uncle.
Competitive sportsman to his friends, esteemed dentist to his patients. He is remembered with great love and affection.
Memorial services were held at his home Wednesday evening, Oct. 27th. Memorial donations may be made to the Boys Club of New York Dental Clinic Endowment Fund, c/o Martin Bunce, Executive Dir., 287 East 10th St., New York, New York 10009.
