The Connecticut Criminal Justice Commission has dismissed a complaint by Woody Allen that Litchfield County State's Attorney Frank Maco violated the canon of ethics for lawyers by saying he wouldn't prosecute the filmmaker for child molestation although he thought there was "probable cause" to prosecute.

Maco had said he did not want to put the child in question, 8-year-old Dylan Farrow, through the ordeal of trial. Dylan is the adopted daughter of Allen and his former lover, actress Mia Farrow. The commission could have taken disciplinary action, including termination of office, against Maco if it had found him guilty of violations. Allen still has a complaint against the prosecutor pending before the Connecticut state Bar Association.
