Helen Paulos Mantes, died December 8, 1993 in Tooele, Utah.

Born July 20, 1913 in Salt Lake City, to Gus and Polexene Paulos, of Magna, Utah. Married Ernest G. Mantes in May 1932. He preceded her in death.Survived by daughter, Paula Argus; son, George Mantes and his wife, Mary Ann; grandchildren, Cathy Hemingway King and husband, Peery, Camille Argus, Ernest Mantes, and Stacey Kouris and husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Hallie Hemingway and David King. Surviving sisters and brothers, Katy Speros and husband, Ted, Ernest G. Paulos and wife, Pat, Pete G. Paulos and wife, Mary.

Helen was very active in the Order of Eastern Star. She was a past matron of Adah Chapter #15 and served as the first Worthy Matron of Tooele Valley Chapter #25. She also served as a Grand Officer and a Grand Representative of the O.E.S. Helen was a dedicated civic worker and was involved in many projects and clubs devoted to the betterment of her community. As president of the Woman's Club of Tooele, she was instrumental in raising funds for the construction of the Tooele Valley Nursing Home.

The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Brent Black and all the staff of the Tooele Valley Nursing Home, for the loving care they extended to our mother, allowing her dignity during the last year of her life.

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 11th at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West, Salt Lake City. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main, Tooele, Friday from 6-8 p.m. Greek Orthodox prayer service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Burial at Tooele City Cemetery. Family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association, in Helen's memory.
