Skaggs Telecommunications Service has moved into a new state-of-the-art film and video production facility at 935 W. Bullion St.

"With the new equipment in this facility and the caliber of talent at STS, Salt Lake can deliver the quality of product that was only previously available in places like L.A. and New York," said Tom Bottoms, general manager.STS also announced that Bottoms has been hired as general manager and Paul Roden is the operations manager. Both formerly operated their own production company, Robott Productions.

Last September, Roger Olsen, who was STS general manager at the time, was killed in a helicopter crash in the Great Salt Lake. Kathy Benson, who was seriously injured in the crash, said, "It's an exciting, emotional event. I know how proud and how happy Roger is to have it all come together at last."

The key to the facility's capabilities is the video and audio equipment that keeps recorded signals in digital format throughout the production process. By staying in a digital mode, versus digital to analog and back and forth, the original quality is maintained at a much higher level, Bottom said.
