Elizardo Vigil, age 73, passed away December 3, 1993.
He was born February 22, 1920 in Llano, New Mexico to the late Jose Liborio Vigil and Celestina Tafoya Vigil. He served in the Army in Word War II, receiving the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained. He married Celia Romero on April 22, 1949 in Ely, Nevada. He was retired from Kennecott Copper. He lived a wonderful and glorious life, and was loved by all who knew him. He will always be remembered by his generosity to all. He loved to spend time with all his grandchildren.Survived by his wife, Celia R. Vigil and three children: Joseph and wife Donna, Jeanette, and Richard; grandchildren, Angelina, Mark, and Carrie Vigil, Monic Ortega, and Jenica Vigil; sisters, Margaret Gonzales, Josie Martinez, and Frankie Mascaranes; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and some brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 7, 1993, at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, 7405 South Redwood Road, where friends may call Monday, 6-7 p.m. Holy Rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m. in the church. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
