Frank Seamons Petersen, 77, died of cancer on December 8, 1993 at his home in Bountiful, returning to his Heavenly Father and the waiting arms of his eternal family.

Frank was born in Hyde Park, Utah on November 12, 1916, the son of Arthur M. and Mary Seamons Petersen. He attended North Cache High School in Richmond, Utah where he was student body president. He married Gretta Bingham on November 22, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple.Frank served a Western States mission for the LDS Church from 1937-1939. He was drafted into World War II soon after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. He fought loyally for his country in Casablanca, Africa, Sicily, Corsica, Italy, Southern France, Germany and Austria. He was discharged with honors on October 3, 1945.

Just after he married, he took his bride to the Continental Divide in Wyoming where he had purchased a service station, cafe and cabins. Frank ran the service station and Gretta ran the cafe. They stayed there four years, sold the business and decided to move south. They moved to Bountiful in 1952 at which time Frank bought into a men's clothing store on Main Street in Bountiful.

Frank owned and operated "Frank's Clothing" for over 30 years. Many residents of Bountiful will remember his sense of humor and kind service while shopping at his store. He served in many leadership positions in the business community. He was also very active in his church, serving in bishoprics as well as Stake Sunday School presidencies.

He is survived by his wife, Gretta; children: Mary and Dan Springer; Trudy and Wayne Smith; Lyle Frank and Christine Petersen; grandchildren: Shelly, Breck, Ryan, Todd and Alison Springer; Amy, Stacey and Nicole Smith; Tara, Mikelle and Cade Petersen; brothers and sisters: Delbert Petersen, Ephrata, Wash.; Mervin Petersen, Wheatridge, Colo.; Sarah Mauchley, Nibley, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Hatti Petersen, Vonda Petersen and Wilma McQuarrie; and a grandson, Gavin P. Springer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 11, 1993 at 11 a.m. in the Bountiful 31st Ward, 600 East Center Street, conducted by Bishop Robbins. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be Saturday afternoon at the Hyde Park City, Utah Cemetery.
